I began my legal career in litigation in 2000 as a public defender, where I handled a variety of serious criminal cases and juvenile dependency cases. As a trial attorney for eight years, I learned how to handle grace under pressure and achieve success in the courtroom, I learned to listen carefully to my clients to tell their story. I learned how to gain a full picture of a case, educate my clients about their choices, and create strategies to protect their rights and legal interests.
From 2008 to 2012, I supervised the juvenile court and dependency units at Northwest Defenders Association in King County. I gained a significant understanding of family challenges including substance abuse, domestic violence, and child physical and sexual abuse that I draw from in my practice today.
I subsequently worked at a Redmond law firm where I handled a full range of family law matters in King and Snohomish counties. My work experiences included the drafting and enforcing pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, complex dissolutions, and high-conflict custody disputes.
I opened my own law firm in 2017 to continue advocating for clients utilizing the values that I take to heart. As a client-centered practice, I focus on quality, not quantity. I strive to provide attentive, cost-efficient, and effective legal counsel in all aspects of family law cases from the straightforward to the complex.
I am a graduate of Texas Tech University and Tulane University Law School. Prior to my career as an attorney, I worked in sports and television journalism. I have lived in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle since 2003. I enjoy spending time with my family, our sharpei dog who is frequently in my office, backcountry skiing and snowboarding, and collecting Oregon red wines.
